Putting Our City First
Vote November 4, 2025
Putting Our City First. Always.
I’m running to bring real, visible change to our neighborhoods—starting with public safety, cleaner streets, responsible city services & transportation, affordability and smarter preservation of our tree canopy and historic treasures.
Let’s fix what’s broken and build a city that works for everyone.
About Denise

A Mother. A Business Owner. A Proven Advocate for Change.
I’m a proud product of Miami, raised by two hardworking immigrant parents who taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and community. Their example shaped who I am and why I fight for this City.
I studied Journalism and Mass Communications, with a minor in Political Science, at Miami Dade College and Florida International University, and I’ve spent over 20 years as a small business owner. As a wife and mother, I am rooted in this community.
As a philanthropist and activist, I’ve helped bring real change to the State, County, and City—all from the outside. Now, I’m ready to step inside and continue that work with even greater impact. Imagine what we can accomplish together when someone who truly cares is finally in office.
My Priorities
Public Safety First
- Fully support police and first responders always while ensuring accountability
- Prioritize safety in every neighborhood with traffic calming initiatives done in collaboration with County and FDOT like in Coral nook.
- Re-Establish Neighborhood Enhancement Offices especially in high traffic areas of Little Havana and Brickell
- Repair existing and add new crosswalks where needed in highly congested areas like Brickell & Little Havana
Clean & Beautiful Communities
- Create Neighborhood Ambassador Programs especially in high traffic areas of Little Havana and Brickell.
- Enhance solid waste programs in commercial districts including weekly street sweeping in key areas
- Add daily waste services in high traffic tourism zones like Little Havana & Brickell
- Establish and actually maintain a monthly schedule for tree pruning and landscaping in public spaces and public right of ways.
Housing & Affordability
- Champion and incentivize more affordable housing programs for working families and seniors.
- Partner with nonprofits and developers to preserve communities and create a Miami that ALL people can actually “afford”.
- Cut red tape in the Building Department that delays housing projects and incentivizes more Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing in my district and engages more small builders in process.
- Ensure City-wide policies protect long-term residents and businesses from displacement.
- Establish more safeguards within Building Codes that actually protect the rights of residents especially in the Condominiums.
Greener Cleaner Miami
- City-wide Tree-trimming on public right of ways
- Use tree trust funds to have City maintain all large specimen trees and actually help those with real hardships
- Make ALL specimen trees in public spaces the city’s responsibility
- Review and fix recycling—are we doing it right, and at what cost? Incentivize alternatives like composting.
- Reduce bulk waste pickup to bi-monthly to improve efficiency
Eliminating Waste and Restoring Accountability
- Reform the broken Building Department and overhaul entire unsafe structures codes
- Eliminate waste in every department and City-wide starting with the City Attorney’s office
- Revamp MPA (Miami Parking Authority) and make sure that they are paying their share and accountable
- Improve and simplify entire permitting process including for Tree Pruning so that even residents in low income neighborhoods can be compliant.
Preserve Our History
- Rewrite outdated historic preservation guidelines
- Expand grants for historic buildings and historic neighborhoods
- Partner with nonprofits to restore and manage historic sites, starting with Tower Theater in Little Havana

I’ve seen how our city government has let down the very people it’s supposed to serve. I’m stepping up to make sure safety comes first, public spaces stay clean, and taxpayer money is spent where it matters. From Little Havana to Brickell, I’m here to listen, act, and get results.
